Anastasia Shapoval is a violinist and photographer whose artistic practice brings together music, visual storytelling, and a deep interest in human emotion.

Born into a family of musicians in Chișinău, Moldova, she began playing the violin at the age of five. She later studied at the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory under Professor Eduard Grach, graduating in 2011.

For more than fifteen years, Anastasia has performed internationally as a solo, chamber, and orchestral musician. She was a member of musicAeterna under Teodor Currentzis and has collaborated with ensembles including Les Dissonances, Ensemble Pulcinella, and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.

Alongside music, photography gradually became a second artistic language. From 2018 to 2020, she studied at V. Vishnevsky’s School of Academic Photography, and since 2024 has continued her photographic education at Ekaterina Bogachevskaya’s Photography Academy.

Her photographic work explores human emotion, identity, inner states, and the relationship between the individual and their environment. Her musical background strongly influences her visual language, particularly her sensitivity to rhythm, gesture, tension, silence, and movement.

Anastasia currently lives and works in France, developing her practice between photography and music.
